Designer L’Wren Scott was found dead in her New York apartment, according to police sources. The companion of Mick Jagger was found by an assistant in her apartment on 11th Avenue, the victim of an apparent suicide. She was 49 year old.
Born in Utah, Scott became a model and then moved to California and launched a career as a Hollywood stylist. She dressing everyone from Madonna to Julia Roberts. She launched her own fashion collection in 2006, called “Little Black Dress.” She gradually built up her collection, dressing starts like Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz for the Academy Awards and showing first in New York and then in London. Last February, Scott cancelled her show during London Fashion Week citing production problems and later showed it informally in Paris. In addition to apparel, sunglasses and handbags she did collaborative collections with Banana Republic in December as well as brands such as Lancome.
A spokesman for Mick Jagger said he is completely shocked and devastated by the news.
