La-Z-Boy Grand Opening In Chicago. Enter The Designer Dream Room Sweepstakes!

Shani Silver presenting her "Fashionable Host-Cocktail Party" room design at the La-Z-Boy Grand Opening on Elston In Chicago
La-Z-Boy opened a new store on Elston Avenue and held a Grand Opening Celebration yesterday evening. There was wine, live music, appetizers and a special silent auction to benefit The Ronald McDonald House. There was also a fun ribbon cutting ceremony, complete with a champagne toast and cake! The highlight for me was to check out four rooms designed by Chicago fashion, lifestyle and interior design stylists. Guests of the party took a little tour of the dream rooms and each stylist briefly described their room design and their inspiration. They all gave a lot of credit to their La-Z-Boy design teams that assisted each of them. You can vote for your favorite room and enter to win a sweepstakes for a $5000 La-Z-Boy Gift Card. After seeing these room, the furniture and all of the the accessories at La-Z-Boy, I know that I personally would love to win that gift card! 1. Shani Silver, Chicago editor for fashion and lifestyle blog Refinery 29 presented her “Fashionable Host-Cocktail Party” room. Using black leather, cool greys with splashes of lemon she really got this room right and ready for an elegant cocktail party.

2. Amy Tara Koch, style expert, mommy-blogger (BumpItUpStyle.com) journalist and fashion aficionado appropriately put together a “Function Meets Style for Busy Moms” room. This room was very comfy and she put together unique accessories in a whimsical fashion without the room looking cluttered!

3. The Girls of Lincoln Park, Chicago fashion and lifestyle bloggers Anne, Julie, Katie and Lauren (thegirlsoflincolnpark.tumblr.com) put together a “Small Spaces, Young, Modern, Urban Dwellers” room. This room was successful, too. I could totally picture this furniture in a cool city apartment!
Monica Pederson presenting her "Sensible and Savvy Home Trends"room design.
4. Monica Pederson, Chicago designer and host of the HGTV series Designed to Sell, presented her “Sensible and Savvy Home Trends” room. Monica educated us all a bit, (like she does on TV) explaining that she started with a neutral base and added pops of color with the accessories. She also mentioned that La-Z-Boy is completely on trend and offers over 900 fabric selections which even as a professional, she finds amazing. I know it is s difficult decision, but you can vote for your favorite room and enter the Designer Dream Room Sweepstakes on the La-Z-Boy Facebook page! Visit the new La-Z-Boy at 2647 N. Elston Avenue in Chicago and see these rooms for yourself! – Carol Calacci Photos: Second City Style
