Kate Middleton: The Risktaker?

Most of us are used to seeing the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, in fairly conservative pieces — LK Bennett wedges, long sleeve Reiss and Roland Mouret dresses, and even buttoned up Alexander McQueen looks. So when we noticed her in this teal Jenny Packham gown at an Olympics event in the Royal Albert Hall, the ladies at Second City Style did a collective gasp and nod of approval at the commendable evolving of her style. For the girl who’s known to match her shoes to her outfit and hide her enviable silhouette, this was a clear statement that said, “I’m tired of wearing long pieces that hide my assets.” The dress may look conservative at first, but don’t let that fool you. Kate seems to know how to trick the eye in appealing ways. The lace back is eye catching and she left it open for all to see. The dress also has a V-neckline to reveal more cleavage than we’re used to seeing from the refined royal. The lace shoulders were also eye-catching. She topped off the whole look with glittery Jimmy Choo sandals–the sky-high kind, of course. This is so unlike her–but we so like it! Photos: Osoblog.tv, Backseatstylers.com –Simona Kogan
