Metallic shoes were one of the standout trends we spotted on the runways for Fall 2025. I couldn’t be happier—metallic shoes have always been one of my favorites. Why? Since I don’t wear much jewelry, metallic shoes are my go-to way to add a little shine (and bling) to any look. They pair beautifully with almost everything. Metallic hues also solve the dilemma of what to wear with tricky colors—when black feels too harsh, metallic is often the perfect solution. (For instance, I skip the old “nude shoes with red” rule—I’d much rather go metallic!)
I especially loved seeing metallic shoes styled with black tights, cozy wool looks, and deep, rich fall colors on the runway. Sure, they may not be the best choice for slushy snow days, but there are plenty of crisp, dry days to try the trend this fall and winter. Best of all? Metallic shoes are no longer reserved just for parties or evening wear—the way to best wear them this season is during the day!

How to Wear Metallic Shoes for Fall
- Metallic shoes can be surprisingly versatile for fall. Try pairing them with skirts or dresses and black, gray, or textured tights, or wear them with dark denim jeans or tailored wool pants.
- The beauty of metallics is that they complement almost any color. For a rich autumn palette, pair gold or bronze shoes with plum, burgundy, navy, gray, or deep green. Silver, pewter, and gunmetal look striking with black, charcoal, winter white, or chocolate brown.
- For extra style impact, wear metallics in gleaming contrast with soft, textured knitwear or heavy wools. They also work beautifully with multicolored geometric patterns, dark florals, and classic fall checks and plaids.
- When it comes to styling metallic shoes this season, the sky truly is the limit.
