Forte joined Dolce & Gabbana in 2002 as president and licensing director of Dolce & Gabbana USA, and was most recently executive advisor to the board and owners Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Forte has had a number of high profile jobs at Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani, before she had another important set of jobs at D&G, including sales, marketing and licenses.

Forte started the company's U.S. expansion in 2002, which was one of the first non-Italian markets to get behind the brand. “Gabriella has been an integral part of our success. Her knowledge of the luxury goods sector and her business and marketing skills have been instrumental in growing the company,”  Gabbana explained on the importance of Forte's roles. “We’ve always thought very highly of Gabriella Forte. Her name is a guarantee.”

Though Forte has not made a public announcement on her next move, she is looking forward to the next step. Forte stated that she “loved every minute of my time [at the company]. I will miss being part of the organization, but I am eager to devote more time to myself and am excited to start the next chapter in my life.”

As of right now, there is no successor to Forte.
