Four Celebrities Who Love Their Designers

Simona Kogan
There are the celebrity risk-takers and the ones who are casual clothes horses. There are the celebrities who never have one particular style and the ones who are fairly predictable. Then there are celebrities who make the rounds on designers, so you’ll never see them in the same designer twice. And then there are the ones who have their favorite designers and wear them religiously.
This piece is about those celebrities. While they do change up their looks and their designers often, they do wear particular designers frequently. That’s why it’s always easy to wonder if that dress Anne Hathaway wore the after party was Valentino or if the sharp shouldered blazer on Kim Kardashian’s frame was Plastic Island. Because it usually is.
Here’s my ode to four lovely celeb fashionistas and they designers they hold dear.
Fergie LOVES…Etro
The only female singer in the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie is a chick that likes to stand out. She typically does that by wearing bold colors and patterns like bright greens, yellows, statement blues, and scarlet reds. She’s often seen in graphics from Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs. She’s a big fan of prints so it’s no surprise the wife of actor Josh Duhamel is also a big fan of the Etro brand, which does all of the above. Whether its a bold and colorful maxi dress at the Teen Choice Awards or a raspberry colored blazer with a limi green Anna Sui mini at Avon’s spokesperson at their 125th Anniversary Party, Fergie is a fan of Etro’s loud bohemian print aesthetic.

Diane Kruger LOVES…Chanel
I’m not completely certain that Karl Lagerfeld has called Inglorious Basterds actress Diane Kruger a muse the way Marc Jacobs has described Sofia Coppola. One thing’s for sure, though, the stylish girlfriend of Joshua Jackson does love the sophisticated style of Chanel. Chanel is her go-to style for many an event whether it’s the Academy Awards or an gathering in Cannes during the annual Cannes Film Festival. She loves Karl’s bold use of textures and patterns and his intricate details on a lush but simple garment. It’s no wonder she has modeled in ads for the famed Parisian label.

Claire Danes LOVES…Calvin Klein
The former Romeo & Juliet actress may not be a fan of the bold patterns of Chanel or Vivienne Westwood, but she certainly likes the minimalistic approach. Which is why it’s totally normal to consistantly see Claire Danes in a Calvin Klein Collection ensemble whether it pronounes a bold, bright color or a plunging neckline. She’s chosen Calvin Klein at recent events like the Goldon Globes and the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party and has opted for clean and simple looks at Elton John’s recent AIDS Foundation benefit. It seems like Danes will always be a Calvin girl. She’s been captured wearing the label at his annual fall and spring fashion shows and promoted its sleek existence at an event celebrating the label’s 40 years.

Rene Zellweger LOVES…Carolina Herrera
This one’s practically a no brainer. Renee Zellweger may have been clumsy in Bridget Jones’s Diary, but she’s the epitome of the soft and elegant Carolina Herrera girl. And she’s been wearing the ladylike label for quite a while. The actress has popped up at many an awards show in the designer’s luscious feminine gowns and elegant silk minidresses, perfect for the lady of the hour. When Renee got married to country singer Kenny Chesney, she wore…you guessed it, Carolina Herrera! In March, when she appeared at the Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards, she even customized a Carolina Herrera Fall 2011 gown when she took up the hemline and wore it as a minidress. (It had originally been long and below-the-knee.)
