Last month Dolce&Gabbana released their Make Up True Monica Collection, inspired by their muse…screen icon and classic Italian beauty Monica Bellucci. This timeless collection of mostly nude lipsticks and smoldering eyes, captures the essence of Italian femininity. There are three new Monica Voluptuous Lipsticks, a new Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Smoky and Intense Nail Lacquers in hues of soft rose, pink and nude. Every shade in the True Monica Collection was developed by Dolce&Gabbana Make Up Creative Advisor Pat McGrath. The campaign was shot by photographer Giampaolo Sgura in Sicily.

According to designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Monica Bellucci represents the Dolce&Gabbana woman. Her ageless beauty radiates with a refined touch of make-up. Sensual, carnal full lips in nude tones and expressive smoky eyes create an intensely enigmatic face. “We are constantly inspired by Monica Bellucci, to us she will always be the original Dolce& Gabbana woman; naturally, timelessly beautiful with an unwavering strength of character on the inside,” stated Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
“Being Italian means to live everyday as if it was the last one, enjoy it and make it beautiful. Indeed, everyone can feel Italian,” says Monica Bellucci.
“Monica’s signature look works on many skin tones,” says the fashion world’s leading make-up artist and brand Creative Advisor Pat McGrath. “Use the khol pencil first, smudge and then apply the shadows to enhance the eye. To get the lips looking extra full, fill them in with lipliner first and then apply lipstick, Nude Monica suits darker skin, while pink-based Gentle Monica suits porcelain skin tones.”
