Will Kate's dress be a dramatic affair like this?
Without missing a beat, London Fashion Week took off the moment the shows in New York ended (as we were dragging our exhausted but still fabulous bodies back to the Chi). And now at its halfway mark, its already served up its fair share of oddball antics (puppy dog ears at Topshop?) and gossip! One of the tidbits we found most interesting came from the mouth of none other than The Dame herself, Vivienne Westwood. At her splashy affair of a show, in which models had gold leaf carefully applied to their faces, Westwood was asked if she had tapped to design her "mate" of fifteen years Kate Moss' wedding dress. Her response? "No, I think she’s designing it herself." You don't say!
Not that Moss wouldn't have the capacity to design a gown for her nuptials to The Kills frontman Jamie Hince this summer. She did have multiple collections for Topshop that were a success, and goodness knows she knows enough about clothing, tailoring and fit from her 25 year career in the industry. But still, if you were to have your pick of the litter of any designer on the planet, and you looked good an everything you put on your body, wouldn't you just leave the grunt work to someone else? That way she could focus on other details of the wedding, like outfitting her only bridesmaid, eight-year old daughter Lila Grace. Maybe she could start with a child-sized bridesmaid dress and work her way up! Either way, Congratulations Kate! We know you'll rock whatever dress you choose.
