Last Thursday, October 5, 2006 we joined a capacity crowd of nearly 1,500 and attended the 51st Annual Gold Coast Fashion Award Show, the signature fundraising event of The Children’s Service Board of Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital. The show raised a record $475,000.
The event included individual store-sponsored segments from various Chicago retailers and a competition segment where emerging designers competed for the Gold Coast Fashion Award.

The 2006 Gold Coast Fashion Award went to Dennis Basso whose fall/winter 2006 collection of innovative fur creations made him the perfect choice for Chicago.
Other participating designers included: Julian Chang, Sari Gueron, kaufmanfranco, Marchesa, Thakoon Panichgul and Brian Reyes. Retail presentations of fall fashions were provided by Escada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Frances Heffernan presenting Gustavo Cadile, Mark Sahle presenting menswear, MaxMara, J. Mendel, Neapolitan presenting Zac Posen, Neiman Marcus presenting Piazza Sempione and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche.
