Chicago Events: Alvin Valley's Fall 2013 and Spring/Summer 2014 Trunk Show

Alvin_Valley_Trunk_show_Chicago This past Wednesday, Alvin Valley,” The King of Pants” showcased his trendy and fun Fall 2013 collection and gave us a sneak peek to his new Spring/Summer 2014 collection in Chicago. The trunk show included his amazing pants, blouses, blazers, peplum tops, pant-suits and dresses. The collections possess the perfect amount of color and neutrals to match everyone’s tastes. I absolutely could not keep my eyes off his designs and had to ask him a few questions on where all his ideas and inspiration came from. His inspiration actually came from sharks and shark fishing. He told me the SS14 collection is full of unique fabric and designs that have a unique way of showing sharks. The colors of his fall 2013 collection are generally neutrals but include also a beautiful burgundy, navy blues, red and purple.

I asked Valley his favorite part of the collection and he responded, “Mixing engineering with fashion.” He mentioned how he and his team came up with new, unique fabrics that are comfortable just like Lululemon but more elegant and dressy. His pants have a wider waistband which makes them fit impeccably and flatter every woman’s body. He also has washable leather pants that are great news for us leather lovers! I also asked Valley why his pants were so unique and he said,”Many designers forget about pants and think of the top/blouse first, but I concentrate on the pants and how they fit and then add the top piece.” He loves working and tailoring pants to make them perfect.
