Rumors: Marc Jacobs & Coach Chatter Swirling
Coach Inc. is on the hunt for the brand’s next creative director, and the company is rumored to be looking at none other than
Marc Jacobs. This all depends if the celebrated designer’s contract at
Louis Vuitton will be renewed when it expires at the end of the year. Another possibility for Jacobs is to focus on his own brand and go for an initial public offering.
According to sources, other candidates on Coach’s list include
Derek Lam, Phillip Lim, former
Balenciaga designer
Nicolas Ghesquière,
Chloé’s creative director
Clare Waight Keller, and
Emma Hill, former creative director at
Mulberry.
