Do you like clogs? Lauren recently mentioned she wanted a pair, and it reminded me just how much I love them. Then I pictured how much I would wear them this season. With all the denim jean styles available right now, clogs can be the perfect finishing touch to so many of my casual outfits. So I set out to find some of the best clogs for women over 50.
What I love most about clogs is their comfort and convenience. They’re easy to slide on and off, offer a little lift depending on the heel height you choose, and can even make you look taller and more elongated. Plus, they cover your toes—making them lawn-friendly and office-appropriate.
Best Clogs for Women Over 50
Of course, I remember a few mishaps from the late ’70s—twisting an ankle or slipping out of a pair wasn’t uncommon. But many of today’s clogs are much more secure and supportive. As long as you’re not walking long distances, they’re extremely comfortable—even for women over 50! Just think about why surgeons and nurses rely on Danskos for those long hours on their feet.

Clogs also come in a range of heel heights, so if you’re worried about stability, opt for a lower platform that keeps you closer to the ground.
And when you splurge on a designer pair, they’re incredibly well made. Many feature padded footbeds and structured designs that stay comfortably in place. I tried a high pair from Veronica Beard last year, and they were secure, stylish and extremely comfortable!
Another bonus? Clogs have a timeless, retro feel that never goes out of style. If you invest in a quality pair, you’ll be able to wear them for years.
So why not give clogs a try this spring and summer? Pair them with jeans, cropped pants, skirts or even maxi dresses. If you don’t already own a pair, now’s a great time to explore. Whether you’re ready to splurge or looking for a steal, I’ve found some fabulous options below:

Shearling Lined Clog Flats
This pair of Veronica Beard clog flats are safe for walking, and have comfy shearling lining. However, you can get the original Birkenstocks that are a less cute, but also $200 less!
This sporty pair of Marni sneaker-clogs have rubber soles and bumper toes, or you can go all-waterproof with these Hunter clogs for a fraction of the cost.
These flat woven Bottega Veneta wedge clogs are amazing, and would be very comfortable, but they’re pricey! However I found an extremely inexpensive knock-off to try!
