Beauty Review: FixMySkin Balms

What has been sitting by my computer ever since I received a sample? FixMySkin Balm, the first-ever balm to contain 1% hydrocortisone. I use it on my lips and dry hands/cuticles. Developed by Dr. Joel Schlessinger, an Omaha-based dermatologist, and his son, Daniel, a student at Northwestern University – FixMySkin (containing 1% hydrocortisone in a unique balm formulation) repairs damage and offers an innovative solution to common skin problems.  The products treat dry skin, chapped lips, psoriasis, eczema, insect bites, poison ivy, seborrheic dermatitis and allergic skin reactions to cosmetics and other products. Can you think of anything better for your medicine cabinet?
The background behind the product development is truly unique – the idea came to Daniel at age 12, when he noticed how easy it would be to apply chap stick to hands and dry spots on the body.  After five years, and three generations of Schlessingers (son, father and grandfather),  FixMySkin balms  were introduced!
Hydrocortisone, the bedrock of the FixMySkin balms, has chemical properties that help heal, while the balm formula moisturizes the skin, allowing for a higher level of efficacy than plain hydrocortisone creams.  In addition, a unique combination of waxes and hydrocortisone results in a product that withstands exposure in a pocket or purse without melting. FixMySkin balms are available in vanilla and a pleasant flavorless option and come in three convenient sizes for body, lips and face.
