Beauty Buzz. France's #1 Organic Skincare Line Now Available in the States!

Melvita
Melvita skincare line

If there's one country whose taste we can trust, its France. The land that gave us such names like Coco Chanel and Louis Vuitton should be pretty reliable when stamping their mark of approval on a trend, item of clothing, or in this case—beauty product. Started in 1977 in the Ardèche region of south-central France, organic skin care line Melvita has become France's most trusted supplier of healthy, glowing skin. The company was founded by beekeeper Bernard Chevilliat who used the nourishing components of honey to create an effective (and eco-friendly) skincare line. Not only is the line unable to stay on shelves throughout the country, but Melvita was also one of the first brands in the world to receive the selective EcoCert seal for organic ingredients. So are you ready to try it? Well the good news is—you can!

Melvita's first U.S. store opened in San Francisco this spring. Now with locations in Seattle and Newport Beach having followed in June, the line seems keen on making Americans just as addicted. And as we wait for the Chicago outpost, grab the organic goodies online. The extensive line of products is priced from $3 to $56, and includes everything from haircare and "bee"-centered supplements to a men's line and "mum" line (cute!) designed especially for the beauty concerns of women going through such skin-altering, life experiences such as hormonal changes and breast-feeding.

In explaining the philosophy behind his line, Chevilliat says, "The bee is the vector of life and a symbol of the fragility of the world. The name means 'honey and life' in Latin." Well, we sure can't wait to get our hands on some of that honey!
