Alicia Keys has serenaded us with her soulful, soothing music, but now she is embarking on a new treat for us all: jewelry. This Monday and Tuesday, Keys will preview her line, called The Barber’s Daughters, at a temporary shop at Collette Blanchard Gallery in Lower Manhattan. This sneak preview is solely to bring the attention of the public, but also retailers, for the line's 2010 kick off.
The Barber's Daughters is a collection made up of sterling silver and gemstone accents, all of which are inscribed with poetry and prayers of Masaru Emoto, the author of "The Hidden Messages in Water."
Keys met co-founded of the line, jewelry designer Gisèle Theriault, through her band mates who bought Theriault's jewelry backstage during shows.

The line's name, The Barber's Daughter, was explained by Theriault to be from growing up in the small coastal town of Cape Breton in Canada, where “a name meant nothing. Whose child you were was everything.”
Keys said her mission is “to give people beautiful, unique pieces with messages that ignite them to find the best within” and that she has long wanted to get involved in accessories.
The line of necklaces retail from $85 to $2,500 and is sold on thebarbersdaughters web site.

Great another celebrity jumps on the bandwagon and becomes a designer
Excellent work on jewelery,
keep up the good work.
I like it.
WAW! I love it! The ethnic style emerged with laser carving and modern materials- what a sight!Maybe she is another celebrity but she is good in jewelry design!
She is SO talented! Do you know if she uses ready made beads and parts for her jewelry or dose she make them all on her own? I have a special respect to those who go all the way and make it all on their own 🙂
