Style Stars of The New Generation: Elizabeth Olsen, Krysten Ritter, Lucy Hale and Pippa Middleton

We all know the names of the girls who are noted as the best dressed in Hollywood right now: Diane Kruger, Gwen Stefani, Kate Bosworth, Nicole Richie, Jessica Alba, Heidi Klum and the list goes on and on depending on your opinion. Yet there’s a new crop of style stars on the horizon. Some of them are breakout stars just getting their feet wet in acting or singing while others have been in the limelight for quite some time, but are just getting noticed for their style. Then there are the ones who weren’t meant to be style stars but merely like fashion.
You may agree to disagree, because I am entitled to my opinion, but these are the celebs who I think are the style stars of the new generation:
Elizabeth Olsen (Movie Actress)
This is pretty much a given. She has sisters who are fashion designers and have been breaking ground in fashion on their own. Then we saw her at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival in that white lacy-curtain number from The Row, the brand created by her sisters and we knew we had a new fashion star on our hands. There’s something about the way Elizabeth Olsen plays up her mod boho chic style in outfits that aren’t cleavage bearing but are still ultra feminine that makes us want to copy her! Remember the burgundy velvet pantsuit?
Krysten Ritter (TV Actress)
Krysten Ritter isn’t a household name yet. However she’s been acting in movies like ’27 Dresses’ and shows like ‘Gossip Girl’ since 2001 and perhaps even before. Apparently now the powers that be have caught wind of her (even though they were planning to give her and Brittney Snow a Gossip Girl prequel but I guess that fell through) by casting her in the new ABC series “Don’t Trust the B—” in Apartment 23.” Now she seems to be all over the magazines and we’re sad that we didn’t notice her stellar style before! There’s something about the way she pairs bold dresses in statement-making hues or loud prints with her black hair that gets her noticed. Not to mention she’s worn every brand from Z Spoke by Zac Posen to Armani.
Lucy Hale (TV Actress)
The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star is the show’s main character, but she’s also supposed to be the off-beat stylish one in the cast, and she is, pairing prints and skinny jeans, and florals. Off the show, 22-year old Miss Lucy Hale‘s style is definitely not high school–it’s a whole lot riskier, in a good way. We’ve seen her wear a lot of skin baring cutouts, black sequins and the like. But she’s also worn her share of funky print dresses and bold colors. Above, Lucy shows us that one can find their fashion mark by taking a little risk with super sweet style.
Pippa Middleton (Socialite/Sister to Royalty)
Pippa Middleton is a bonafide British celeb, but not because she’s appeared on TV. Instead, she was first brought to the media forefront when she held sister Kate Middleton’s gorgeous Alexander McQueen wedding gown wearing her own white McQueen creation. While Kate Middleton’s style is enviable, it’s Pippa who’s the risk-taking fashionista in the family. At Kate’s wedding to Prince William, she wore green Alice Temperley to the reception. While Kate is a fan of the not so bold but beautiful Jenny Packham, Roland Mouret, and LK Bennett, Pippa goes for more color and more unique style like that Mondrian-inspired Paper London sweater up top, bright red Zara, bright blue Ted Baker, and colored jeans and tuxedo blazers galore. Perhaps sister Kate should pick up a point or two.
