Sonia Rykiel wants to come into your home!
With a successful bed and bath collection now under her belt, French designer Sonia Rykiel is spearheading a new home collection that channels the Parisian Left Bank chic of her eponymous line. The French fashion house has signed a license with furnishings company Lelievre, (which also makes the Kenzo Home collection), to produce fabrics, cushions, carpets and throws featuring its signature floral patterns and multicolored stripes. The designs will complement the designer's existing bedroom and bath furnishings produced by licensee Anne de Solène. Cute and kitschy touches include black velvet cushions with rhinestones spelling out “Blonde,” “Brune” and “Rousse” (French for “Blonde,” “Brunette” and “Redhead”).
“It’s about humor, comfort, and a cool, bohemian vibe,” said house president Nathalie Rykiel, referring especially to the collection's beanbags named “68” in honor of the founding year of the brand. Rykiel's trade supplier has reported a September U.S. launch for the Sonia Rykiel home collection so stay tuned!
