The last show of Fashion Week closed with a standing ovation (the first I had seen all week). The collection was comprised of top-notch exotic skins, braided horsehair and leather and the most amazing sable over silk tulle effect I have ever seen. Known for producing a grand spectacle, his show almost seemed toned down, but in a good way. More approachable and wearable. The jersey dresses and seperates with sheer cutouts are sure to please. The 'khmer' print with it's giant 7th-century statue images displayed on a few gowns were not for me. They merely distracted from the fine quality and craftsmanship. However, the black braided leather dress and coat, open-back taupe silk chiffon dress with feathers and black feathered cage over caviar-beaded bodysuit deservingly brought a round of applause from the audience. What a fantastic show which with to close fashion week.
