Even if you are not a big fan of gingham, you’ve got to check this out! Michael Kors showed classic sundresses in black and white gingham, Brandon Maxwell went super-sized with gold checks and gingham got glossy at Carolina Herrera.
Crochet was the one texture you could not miss this season. Intricate tops were shown at Alberta Ferretti Altuzarra juxtaposed styles with a black crochet neck piece over a menswear style suit, and Chloe showed us a tightly-woven crochet maxi in confetti colors.
Rick Owens used dramatic soft draping in contrast to his edgy runway looks, Alberta Ferretti layered gorgeous waterfall hues on a sweeping gown and Oscar de la Renta showed easy to wear hombre colored dresses.
Light and airy textures made a statment for Spring 2022 from a popcorn “chubby” jacket at Prabal Gurung, to sequin froufrou embellishments at Jil Sander, to glamorous glittering texture at Givenchy.
Bold colors made their “mark” on the spring runways in saturated luminous color. We spotted brilliant lime at Bottega Veneta, highlighter marker blue at Rodarte and hot vibrant pink at Alexander McQueen.
Micro-minis ruled the runways, but many of the designers gave us not-so mini skirt suit options. Look to Moschino for a retro 60s style suits, Chanel for easy to wear a-line styles and impeccably tailored classics at Christian Dior.
The models appeared to be growing tails for Spring 2022. Tails and trains added drama and movement to many of the looks on the runways at Lowe, Peter Do and Burberry.
Designers showed optically amazing psychedelic prints this season. Brandon Maxwell used swirly graphics, Dries Van Noten used wild watercolor and Christian Dior went neon flower-power. Wow, man!
This trend is exciting because we can get totally creative, and the designers have shown us how to do it in various ways at Jil Sander, Alberta Ferretti and Chanel.
