What To Wear Wednesdays: Stylish Sneakers to Upgrade Your Everyday Wardrobe

Stylish Sneakers

I’ve never really been a “wear sneakers to the train” type of girl, but I lately it seems every time I turn around I see the most gorgeous sport footwear walking next to me down the street.

The key to wearing a stylish sneaker is to make it look nothing, and I do mean nothing, like the shoes you throw in your bag and attempt to get in a quick 3 miles with at the gym.

Recently, ReadyPretty client and SCS reader Carli asked us to share a few stylish and sporty footwear options to round out her wardrobe and add a little bit of comfort back into her shoe collection.

Check out my favorite stylish sneaker picks and how I’d wear them:

Loeffler Randall Rio Ink Fashion Sneaker, $92

Watercolor kicks? Yes please. Have you ever seen something more wonderful? Keep this outfit pairing simple. Slim-fit leather pants, slender long-line white tee and your favorite blazer allows these beauties to steal the show.

Nike Air Pegasus ’83 Print Casual Sneakers, $90

Floral print on my feet? Twist my arm. These little pretties are such a nice footwear surprise. For a casual but oh-so-chic outfit, pair them with your favorite easy black dress, throw a brown belt around your waist and wait for all of the “where did you get those shoes” questions to start rolling in.

Loeffler Randall Rio Runner Sneaker, $295

All this texture in just one shoe? Throw these on with your favorite cropped denim to really let all of the beautiful pattern and metallics shine. An off-white, oversized sweater – dare I say slightly off the shoulder – and you’ve got yourself the most stylish casual outfit on the planet.

Nike MD Runner 2 Sneakers, $70

There’s something about a crisp white sneaker that screams chic. Balance the formality of a navy fitted pants and a grey merino wool sweater with the unexpected detail of casual but refined white sneakers. It’s a lesson in the beauty of basics.
