Wearable Trends: Knot It

When it really comes down to it, having a great sense of style means paying attention to the details. Big trends in fashion are fun, but it’s the little things that make a big difference between being a slave to fashion and having a killer sense of style. This month’s focus is all about the details. I know I’ve highlighted how to incorporate bold colors or seemingly over-the-top runway trends into your everyday wardrobe, but this time I want to focus on the little details that make a look pop. Let’s discuss how to rock those knots and ties.

Wearable Trends: Knot IT

We’ve been seeing these unique twists and ties show up slowly in apparel and accessories since 2016. Pussy bows decorating necklines and accessories, knotted details along the waistlines and the return of the turban. Not only is this trend fun, sexy and feminine, it can also play a functional role. Strategic placement of knot on a dress or top, can create the illusion of a cinched-in waist that can give you a more hourglass figure. And the placement of a large bow along a neckline can conceal a full bust or give you a nice boost in proportions of you are on the opposite end of that scale.

How To Wear Knots and Ties

I’m partial to anything that will accentuate my waist, as like some ladies I’m a more athletic build. I’d give anything for a more hourglass shape, so something like this Mono Stripe Knot Front Dress from Topshop would be perfect for me and other women with this dilemma. You can tie it as loose or tight as you want to give you that desired fit and shape. If you want to keep it simple, this crisp white Bow Button Front Blouse by Carolina Herrera would make a wonderful investment piece. Give it a tuck into some high-waist jeans and add another twist with these Ditzy Bow Sneakers from ASOS and you’ve mastered this trend! Just remember, it’s all in the details!
