Wearable Trends: Seeing Red

With the beloved holiday Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I want to take this month to celebrate the color of the hour. Red can mean many things including love, power and anger, but when it comes to fashion and style it says bold, sexy and standout. If you chose to go red, you are a fearless fashionista who loves to take risks and be seen! Even though we see much more red during the month of February in celebration of Valentine’s Day, that doesn’t mean you can’t represent it year around. Red can make any part of an outfit a statement piece. My favorite is a red pair of trousers with a loose fitting feminine blouse. This look is perfect for the office and can get you out of the neutral office drab colors we all tend to fall back on. Another way to  to give your look a boost is by going with a monochromatic look in black or white (or both black AND white) and adding a fun red shoe as your standout piece. Of course you can also dial it back and wear a red scarf, or a jacket with a red collar or lining. Show off a bit of red in a ruby necklace or earrings or of course the ever-popular red lip. Finally, don’t forget red comes in so many shades and tones that even if you think you don’t look good in it you can find the shade that works for you. Ruby red, oxblood, crimson, auburn, maroon and scarlet are just a few shades that fall into the spectrum. So make a statement this month (and every month after that). Go bold and rock your red! 1.
