ADAM Will Sell Shoes From Runway Collections
For the first time ever, the ADAM brand by Adam Lippes will be selling footwear from its collection show in its stores this fall. Lippes has been designing two styles for each season for Manolo Blahnik for the past several collections as part of a collaboration for ADAM under a brand agreement. Branded as Manolo, the shoes will be sold exclusively at Adam stores just for the fall 2011. Starting in spring 2012, the shoes will no longer be carried exclusively at ADAM stores. The style featured for this fall is a suede or calf leather ankle wrap wedge available in six colors. Each pair retails for $665.
Katy Perry Gears Up for Second Scent
Katy Perry has just announced she will be launching a second scent this November, which will be available exclusively at Nordstrom and on nordstrom.com. Created in partnership with Perry’s fragrance licensee, Gigantic Parfums, the scent is intended to be a companion piece to the recording artist’s first fragrance, Purr, which debuted a year ago and is now available in 54 countries. Perry created her second fragrance while on her “California Dreams” World Tour. As for its name, Perry is giving her fans a bit of a tease: Beginning next week on Twitter, she will invite them to guess. The winners will then be selected at random to receive various prizes, including bottles of perfume, and the potential to meet Perry at a launch event in December.
Rachel Bilson Sign On with Beachmint
In other celebrity endorsement news, Rachel Bilson has signed on to be the newest celeb to partner with Beachmint. The rapidly expanding e-commerce platform, which launched last October with JewelMint, a jewelry line designed by Kate Bosworth and her stylist, has unveiled its latest arm, ShoeMint.com, which will go live in late November. Bilson and her longtime stylist, Nicole Chavez, have signed on as the celebrity designers, while Steve Madden is partnering on production. BeachMint’s other celebrity partners include Bosworth, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen (StyleMint) and Jessica Simpson (BeautyMint). “I loved the idea of designing really cute shoes that are affordable and accessible,” said Bilson. “The whole idea behind the BeachMint brand makes the online shopping experience so personal.” Beachmint follows the now common format of members-only merchandise, that is tailored to each user depending on their style and budget. All ShoeMint shoes will sell for $79.99.
