The Peasant Top

I found this balloon-sleeve blouse at Target for only $20! It’s made of soft and durable machine washable tumble dry fabric, and has a split neckline that is not-too-low but adds a clean modern edge. The sleeves have elasticized cuffs so you can adjust the length of the the sleeves for different looks. This is one top you will keep in your closet for years to come.

Back To Business

The business suit is back, and you may be going to the office again too! Designers like Michael Kors showed glen plaid suits on the runways and you will find a variety of jacket and pants combos in stores for fall. A peasant blouse adds a nice contrast and casual edge to a conservative suit. I belted my top with a red paisley men’s tie I found at a thrift shop to add some color. And don’t forget you can mix prints in unexpected ways. These zebra print pumps add a lot of fun to a look that is appropriate for the office.

Monochrome Skirt Look

This peasant blouse looks totally different when you tuck it into a skirt of the same color. Now it presents itself more like a dress, right? Try a full tiered skirt for an overall peasant look. I pulled up the balloon sleeves over my elbows for an optional look. I’m wearing a studded belt backwards with the buckle in the back so you can see the bold embellishment. Don’t be afraid to mix rugged with soft, or modern with folksy. Slip on some platform slides and you’ll be comfortable all day.

Dressed Up Denim

Lately when I get “dressed up” it is with a pair of jeans. This easy-to-wear peasant top creates a blank canvas for a lot of bling! Wear your most comfortable high waist jeans, add an embellished studded belt and (not just one but) two long gold link chains. Complete the look with sleek black leather kitten heel booties.
