Summer Midi Skirts: How To Make An Impression

When the weather’s hot and the sun’s out, it seems like it’s always my goal to choose outfits and get dressed as quickly as possible. With such limited gorgeous weather, it feels like I’m always rushing to get out the door and get outside faster. I’m always on the lookout for on-trend pieces that help me look both effortless and polished when the weather’s warm and, of course, I want to still be comfortable. It’s time to put together an arsenal of summer midi skirts, and you don’t have to spend a fortune.

Midi skirts are popular this summer and I’m a huge fan. They hit just below the knee and are universally flattering, making them the perfect length for any body type, especially those on the shorter side (myself included). They’re not so long where you have to mess with hemming or altering them or too short (God forbid)!

This unique black and white geometric print skirt from Topshop is perfect for when you want to make a sophisticated statement effortlessly. It can be worn with a simple white button down shirt and statement necklace, or you can mix prints and wear different colorful tops with it. Either way, pair with simple shoes for a look that’s not too over the top.

For those who are fans of wearing denim in the summer, this midi skirt from Gap features light denim and a chic ruffle. It would be ideal to wear for running errands on the weekend, or really any time you want to look put together but don’t have time.

If you are searching for something that features a whimsical print for summer, look no further than this adorable gemstone printed skirt from Anthropologie. It would be perfect for a weekend party or more formal family event.

For a skirt that’s a little simpler, this pencil skirt from Urban Outfitters is both lavender and gingham (two trends of the season), yes, but isn’t too sweet and overly girly. The light colors and smaller print keeps it looking age appropriate and is a great option for when you want to wear a lighter color in the heat.

Last but certainly not least, for an unexpected floral moment, this tulle skirt from H&M features embroidery and fabric applique flowers. In my opinion, it looks way chicer than it may sound (Tulle? Hear me out!). It would look stunning paired with a simple black top and shoes. Wear this look with red lipstick and keep the accessories minimal! It is perfect for nights that involve drinks and maybe even a little dancing!
