How To Style A Green Blouse and Blazer High and Low

I adore green for spring! Yes, green is bold but does not need to be too bright. There are a variety of shades to choose from and they look so fresh. Besides, the color is totally on trend for spring. We proclaimed that green is the new neutral, and not just for St. Patrick’s day. Well this green blouse and blazer look will have you covered for the upcoming holiday and also for spring and fall 2020. You can buy fine and high-quality designer pieces to style this look, or their low-priced look alikes. I found both versions for you so you can decide to invest a little or a lot, or pick and choose a few high-end pieces and mix them with the low-priced options. This outfit gives just the right amount of trendiness for women over 40.

The Green Blouse

Lauren inspired me to put together this look. She recently picked up a bright green blouse for spring. It reminded me of an emerald green silk blouse I wore to death with a black and grey herringbone blazer about 15 years ago. Then I realized a green blouse would be perfect for a chic and sophisticated St.Patrick’s Day outfit. This Equipment Slim Signature Silk Shirt in green is $230, or you can save and get this INC Tie-Front Shirt Created For Macy’s for only $59.50.

The Plaid Blazer

Veronica Beard blazers are in high demand, and for good reason. The fit and tailoring are impeccable and timeless. I found this Veronica Beard Suri Dickey Houndstooth Cotton-Blend Tweed Blazer for $750. The subtle mixed prints and light weight cotton blend will work from now through fall so this jacket is well worth the investment. And it is a Dickey jacket so you can add a Veronica beard dickey underneath. Then I noticed Chelsea28 must have their eye on Veronica Beard too! This Chelsea28 Plaid Blazer has a similar nipped waist and is only $109, as a low-priced option.

High Waist Straight Leg Black Jeans

A more forgiving 70’s style straight leg pair of jeans are a fabulous addition to your wardrobe. These SLVRLAKE London High-rise Straight-leg Jeans for $260 are absolutely perfect! But you may not want to spend that much on a pair of denim so you can try these NA-KD High Waist Straight Leg Jeans in black that are now only $35.96.

The Black Bootie

You probably own several pairs of black booties but probably nothing like these Prada Block Heel Patent Leather Booties. Their on-trend square shape toe and patent leather finish can dress up jeans and dress down a skirt or dress for work. The heel may be a bit high for some women but the blocky heel gives them stability. Prada always comes with style but also a higher price tag. These boots are $950 but Topshop offers a close look-alike, sans the patent leather. These Topshop Harbour Chelsea Boots are only $125.

A Green Mini Bag

I’m in love with top handle bags because they keep an outfit very clean. You will see a lot of celebrities carrying them. And I think they are just as cute as can be, so we should collect them in every color! Green is a great choice. This The Coach Originals Runway Glovetanned Leather Convertible Bag is a worthy investment piece for $395. But Topshop does it again. You can get this Topshop Guru Boxy Faux Leather Handbag for $48.

St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Styling Tips

A Touch Of Green

You don’t have to do head-to-toe green for St. Patrick’s Day. An emerald green colored blouse like the one I choose, or a sweater or top works the best because it will be seen around your face, even in a crowded bar. Be sure you choose a top that you can wear again. Most green tops can be worn again with black, grey or tan pants, denim jeans, a black pencil skirt or white jeans or pants in the summer. A green jacket, headband or hat would be another item you can wear as s pop of color.

A Blazer Adds A Touch O’ Class

A “Kiss Me I’m Irish” tee worked when you were in college, but a tweed or plaid blazer adds a lot of polish to your look, even if you are wearing jeans.

Black Jeans Contrast Green

Black jeans and boots make your green blouse stand out more than if you wore other colors or blue jeans. The black adds a lot of contrast and will highlight anything you wear in green.

A Dual Wear to Work Outfit

St. Patrick’s Day often falls on a work day, so choose an outfit that you could wear to a meeting with an important client! My high low outfit could go from the board room to the bar. It is even chic enough for fashion week!
