Simply Addicted To Simply Gum

I LOVE GUM!

Gum is a treat for me. My husband hates it so I don’t chew it around him, but when I’m hungry I usually grab a piece of my beloved Trident Layers gum (have you tried the Swedish Fish flavor yet?) so I can stave off eating something bad for me. However, in this age of now caring what we put into our bodies I have grown a bit concerned I can’t pronounce many of the artificial ingredients on the pack so I thought I would give Simply Gum a try since I have noticed it popping up at stores and let’s face, the name is catchy and the packaging minimalistically cool.

BUT MOST GUM CONTAINS SOME GROSS STUFF

As it turns out, regular gum is loaded with potentially toxic substances like plastic, BHT and aspartame. Who knows what else is on the gum we chew since the FDA allows conventional gum brands hide up to 80 synthetic ingredients in the catch-all term “gum base” on the label. Some of which could be same components used in the manufacturing of car tires, plastic bottles, and white glue! Disgusting.

ALL NATURAL GUM IS BETTER FOR YOU & THE ENVIRONMENT

Simply Gum is made with only six natural ingredients; organic raw cane sugar, all natural Chicle, natural flavor, organic vegetable glycerin, organic soy lecithin and organic rice flower. So it’s not only better for your body, it’s biodegradable and better for our planet.

My friend Julia recently pulled out a pack of Simply Gum in fennel licorice flavor and while I didn’t care for that one too much I was willing to try others. The ginger and coffee are actually my favorites. The gum also comes in mint, cinnamon and maple and each box contains 15 servings and each piece is only 3 calories. Don’t be put off by the color of the little pieces which is brown…it’s natural. And there are post chew wraps for you discard your ABC (already been chewed) gum.
