I’m incredibly excited for this post, because I get to talk about my favorite thing in fashion: shoes! I am definitely a shoe fiend and now that fall is approaching, the anticipation of rediscovering my boot collection is palpable. If you’ve been paying attention to the new fall shoe trends, you’ll notice that they are far from subtle. I love bold shoes and believe that show-stopping shoes can make even the most simplistic outfit a fashion statement…no matter your age. So let’s get into the fun and wearable shoe trends for the fall season.
Show-Stopping Shoes
Fall 2018 runway shoes were definitely not an afterthought. The shoes made as much of a statement as the apparel this year. Texture, mixed media, asymmetrical lines and chunky athletic shoes were mixed and matched among the lush fabrics, layers and modern silhouettes of the designer clothing. Prada’s sporty take on the classic Mary Jane in white patent leather with a diagonal blocked heel is the perfect example of the bold shoe statement gracing the runways. Gucci also represented with sapphire studded white leather sandals with gold accents, which were particularly to-die-for.
How To Wear Show-Stopping Shoes
One of my favorite ways to wear a show-stopping pair of shoes is to keep the rest of my outfit simple to show them off! My staple go-to early fall outfit is a medium weight baggy sweater tucked slightly into my cuffed skinnies with ankle boots in a bold color with studs, jewels, sparkles, brocade – or all of the above! I recently just invested in my first pair of white boots and now the floodgates have been opening! So much so, I’ve been eyeing these Steve Madden Ariellee boots to add to my wardrobe. If you still want to make a statement but keep it comfortable, try these Chiara Ferrangi glitter sneakers with your favorite sweatshirt and some casual culottes.
