At Second City Style we try to come up with unique gift ideas for Dad for Father’s Day. Ties and cologne are so expected (although my husband did request cufflinks and pocket squares this year…go figure). So if you are still scratching your head trying to figure out what your kids should get their father, or what to get your dear old dad, here are some (if we do say so ourselves) brilliant ideas.
1. Son of a Tailor T-shirt, $60
Yes, now you can get your dad or husband a custom-made t-shirt that fits him perfectly or is exactly like his favorite t-shirt! It’s a ton of fun putting it together online and arrives with his initials on the bottom hem. Or you can give him a voucher so he can make his own.
2. Kiehl’s Body Fuel All-In-One Energizing Wash, $8
If he just can’t wake up or is grumpy in the morning, this is better than a cup of joe! All-in-one means it performs as a body wash and shampoo in one! No fuss. Energizing Wash contains caffeine and vitamin C and E to invigorate and menthol and zinc to refresh, purify and condition.
3. Anthony NEW! The Perfect Shave ($100 Value!), $65
Since I know my husband likes the perfect shave this kit is a contender. It eliminates bumps, burns and irritations with the closest shave possible. The kit includes: Glycolic Facial Cleanser (8 fl oz), Pre-Shave Oil (2 fl oz), Shave Cream (6 oz), and After Shave Balm (2.5 oz).
4. Nashelle Beer Thirty Keychain, $34
For the beer-loving Dad who has a sense of humor…
5. Baume & Mercier Capeland – 10232 Watch, $4,450
This limited-edition Swiss made self-winding chronograph watch makes a statement and says Dad is everything!
6. Redken Clean Brew Extra Cleansing Shampoo for Men, $35
This shampoo goes perfectly with the keychain above if you are looking for a theme. It’s a purifying shampoo that helps remove dirt and oil and is formulated with orange zest for purifying action. Blended with malt to nourish and condition and brewer’s yeast to strengthen hair and boost body, this will be one beer Dad remembers.
7. James Dean Sunglasses, $50
Every man looks better in aviators. Period.
8. NEW Tempered Glass Mogul Mirror™ + Screen Protector for iPhone & Samsung, $34.99
Women aren’t the only ones who want to check if they have lunch left in their teeth. The Mogul Mirror tempered glass screen protector is super-thin (0.33mm) and incredibly strong. The HD-quality mirror disappears when the screen is illuminated. The tempered glass protection is scratch resistant and applies bubble-free.
9. Bling Jewelry Engraveable City Block Cufflinks, Now $14.99 (+$9 to engrave).
Since my husband requested cufflinks my sons got him this pair with our last name engraved (shhh). They are so excited and know their dad will love them.
10. J.M. Thomason Burbon BBQ Spices, $8.99 each
Whether Dad is a master or a disaster at the grill these spices will save the day! Pick from flavors like Bourbon BBQ, Chili Lime and Porterhouse Steak and he can add delicious flavor to chicken, steak, pork and fish! Yum! Better yet, a portion of each product sold benefits Heifer International which helps in ending world hunger and poverty.
11. Mad Over You Grateful Men’s Tee, $78
12. Cole Haan Split Crocco iPhone 6+ Case, $59.99
Dear Dad, it’s time to step up your cell phone game. That boring plastic cell phone case is no longer cutting it. Best Buy and Cole Haan partnered exclusively with each other to create a new collection of smartphone accessories so you can find them at both stores.
The price of this super-cool, timeless watch is unbelievable and it looks 20 times more expensive than it is. This automatic dial men’s watch works under continuous movement and no batteries are required. Add this timeless look to his collection. STAT.
14. Frank & Eileen Paul Blue + White Gingham Check Linen Shirt, $208
I have a few Frank & Eileen shirts so I can attest they are the bomb. These cotton shirts are meant to be worn un-ironed and a little wrinkled. So a gingham shirt like this one paired with khakis will make (OK, your husband) look like the young dad he is (even if only at heart).
15. Burt’s Bees Limited Edition Father’s Day Kit, $25
16. Jefferson’s The Manhattan Barrel Finished Cocktail, $39.99
My dad loved Manhattans and I now do too. If he were still alive (this is my first Father’s Day without him) I know he would love this pre-bottled cocktail. It’s a collaboration between Esquire and Jefferson’s Bourbon and is available at select retailers nationwide. Esquire’s Editor-in-Chief, David Granger, and Jefferson’s Bourbon founder, Trey Zoeller, joined forces to create a cocktail that provides bourbon enthusiasts with a barrel-finished, bottled cocktail that enhances the experience of enjoying a classic Manhattan. The recipe is comprised of six-year-old bourbon, both sweet and dry vermouth, and barrel-aged, spiced cherry bitters.
