Runway To Real Way: Faux Real! Colored Fur for Fall 2015

Runway-To-Real-Way-Colored-Fur-jackets-coats Admit it: Once the calendar shows it’s no longer summer, a small part of us starts asking, “When it will be fur season?” Well the answer is now! Pre-holiday is just about the time we can pull these decadent confections to the front of our closets. While the classic hues will always be in style, this season we saw a surge in rich jewel-toned furs that we can’t get enough of. Faux or real, make sure you make space in your wardrobe (and your budget!) to get your hands on one of these eye-popping pieces. It’s always easy being green, as evidenced by the emerald tones that were awash on the Fall 2015 runways. One of the trends we were at first surprised by how hard we fell was forest green fur, as seen on the runway at Cushnie et Ochs. The lush texture of the over-sized manteau was alluring, as was the rich color that was much more versatile that we may have thought. After a rampant search for the same woodsy hue, a cropped and faux option from Silence + Noise served up the same amount of sass, for a much more splurge-worthy price point. No one will ever show ladylike chic like Oscar de la Renta. While the fashion world still mourns his untimely passing, his collections continue to awe and inspire. Fall 2015 was no exception, including the scarlet, textured fur jackets, expertly paired with timeless LBDs. Throwing a crimson coat over any fall/winter ensemble immediately jumped to the top of our Must Do list. While we loved the defined collar of De la Renta’s, we chose a more everyday version in this 3/4 length sleeved version from Lucy Paris. The ultimate statement in “shaggy” chic. It’s a flat-out myth that grown women can’t pull of baby pink. We’ve been wearing it since our earliest fashion statements and we can continue to own it to this day, when done in a sophisticated shape. Altuzarra also opted for the over-sized trend with his cotton candy colored confection, but we thought a more fitted silhouette would probably play out better in real life. ASOS, our stylish friends across the pond, served up this identically hued car coat in a thigh-grazing length we could get on board with. Where would a piece on jewel-toned fur coats be without the deepest of blues? DVF caught the fur blues in her Fall 2014 collection, pairing the piece with utilitarian pockets and zippers. We loved the chunky accents but set out to duplicate the sapphire shade the closest. The Marian by Won Hundred won our hearts and the competition. We’ll be shrugging on this beauty, as well as the rest in this round-up, from now until the spring thaw.
