Quarantine Chic: Looks For Less To Brighten Up Your Day

Are you working from home and in quarantine? I am too. However, there are a few things you can do to brighten your days and maintain a sense of normalcy during this uncertain time. For one, you can wear chic looks for less that will lighten your load and make you happy!

Just because you’re home doesn’t mean you can’t take care of yourself. In most places you can’t leave the house for anything except groceries or medicine. So indulge in at-home beauty and self care rituals like face masks, hair treatments, manicures and pedicures to make yourself feel beautiful and nourished.

You can also treat yourself and order new pieces you can incorporate with your current wardrobe. You probably have more time now to shop online, and you don’t have to spend a fortune, either. Here are some affordable pieces you can mix and match with your casual looks you’re wearing around the house that will brighten up your day!

Floral T-Shirt

This t-shirt from Topshop incorporates a two things I love to wear – black and dainty florals. The tiny flowers and fern leaves are a nice reminder that spring is technically here and it will feel a lot warmer soon! This top is very versatile because you can dress it up with black pants or a skirt and it is still perfect with your most comfortable pair of jeans.

Fun, Colorblock Button Down

A roomy button down is always a must for spring and you can style it in so many ways! I like wearing a tank top underneath and tying it to fit, or wearing it long with cozy leggings. This colorful pink and red button down add a nice pop of color. This shirt is oversized and can be worn as a jacket.

Leopard Joggers

Why not wear a statement piece while at home? These faux fur leopard joggers from Free People make a sophisticated statement! Pair them with a black top, red lipstick and black flats or sneakers. I’m a firm believer that leopard is technically a neutral, after all! Wear it with anything.

Colorful Kimono

This duster kimono from Anthropologie comes in two bold color combinations and beautiful floral prints. Throw it on over any ensemble to instantly feel pulled together. A kimono is a classic and I adore the dramatic length on this one. You could definitely strut around the house in this, and you will find many ways to wear it this spring and summer when you are finally let out of the house. You can wear it over jeans and a tee, as a robe over lounge wear or as a beach cover-up.

Pearl Initial Pendant

BaubleBar has some unique customizable jewelry including this initial freshwater pearl necklace. I love how this pendant can be layered with other necklaces. It would look chic if it was worn during a video call for work. Here are some more ideas on what to wear while working from home.

Playful Slippers

Whimsical dog printed slippers to keep your toes warm during quarantine? Yes please. These slippers from Lilly Pulitzer are perfect for sliding on while you’re doing activities around the house. They will brighten up your day, whether it’s catching up on your reading or binging Netflix. The pompom trim is so fun, too.

Stay Positive!

Please stay safe and takes care of one another. We’re all in this together, and we have to keep in mind it won’t last forever. I’m sending love your way and hope you stay quarantine chic!

Quarantine Chic Looks For Less Tips

1. Find pieces you will wear again and again. For example, a pair of furry leopard joggers may seem frivolous, but they are a classic print, are warm, and you can wear them year after year. Sweats don’t go out of style, and a chic pair like these are fun to wear around the house, and will work if you need to run out to he grocery store or to walk the dog.

2. Find versatile pieces. The bright kimono and color blocked button-down shirt both can be styled multiple ways, especially when worn layered over other pieces. Wear them around the house now and later they can become your go-to summer wraps.

3. Find fashion you love. Fashion is all about personal style and aesthetics. The whimsical dog printed slippers can put a smile on your face, and the pearl initial pendant is simply divine. Find chic pieces to brighten up your day. And remember, you don’t have to break the bank.
