No, you don’t have to be a cheerleader or even 16 to partake in this hot trend. Of all the shoe trends for the Spring ’16 season (and there are many) one I am loving is the pom pom embellishment. I was a sucker for a good bow (in the 80’s and more recently), rhinestones (in well the 80’s again and more recently) and now I adore the pom pom. You need to have a bit of a sense of humor to pull this look off.
Designer names like Dolce&Gabanna, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Aquazzura and Miu Miu are just a few that openly embraced the pom pom in fur and thread and now they have trickled down to ASOS and the like. Now you have no excuse not to adorn your pair of shoes with pom poms – especially now that ASOS sells a set of black pom poms you can clip on to your favorite flats or stilettos and remove just as easily!
One word of caution, check the weather report before you head out in these “not made for inclement weather” shoes. Nobody wants to have a drowned fur ball on their foot.
