NY Fashion Week Fall '08. Carmen Marc Valvo. Cinematic Inspired Glam

Summary: Carmen Marc Valvo‘s influence for his Fall ’08 collection was the classic movie Butterfield 8. The lead character Gloria Wandrous played by Elizabeth Taylor was his muse. Therefore, the collection was more about glamorous evening looks with nary a daywear look to be found. Lingerie served as the foundation with hints of slips and skin that balanced the jewel toned satins, feather and lace structurally complex pieces. As expected, the beautiful gowns and dresses were very wearable as Valvo is the master of illusion. No wonder women love his gowns, he’s accessible. Not only that, this one of his strongest collections as he just keeps getting better every season.
