Delpozo’s Fall 2015 Collection was an explosion of color, texture and creativity. Designer Josep Font was inspired by the works of painters Rhys Lee and Andrey Remnev. His designs featured color blocking in unexpected hues that somehow paired beautifully together. Although boxy and modern, the silhouettes still managed to look feminine. The embroidery, a signature of any Delpozo collection, appeared almost mechanical in its perfection. The collection took a break from structure with delicate knits that appeared to have formed organically. A couple of the sweaters were so encrusted with ruffles and fringe that they looked like living organisms. The outerwear was a delight to see. Font completely re-imagined what a coat could be by creating them in vibrant shades of green, adding tropical leather applique and panels of embroidery. My favorite piece was a solid red coat with origami pleating at the shoulders and massive cuffs at the elbows. The signature Delpozo balloon sleeve was in no shortage this season. The boxy, exaggerated sleeve was used on several coats and blouses. Font created a fun variation by making the bottom half of the sleeve in a shimmering transparent fabric. – Kelcie McCurdy Photos: Style.com
