Celebrity Style: 4 New Ways To Wear Dresses

A dress is a piece of ephemeral architecture, designed to enhance the proportions of the female body.

Want to know how to be the style star of the party? Wear a great dress! Take your cue from these lovely ladies, who are each pushing the boundaries of fashion in new and unique ways with their fabulous frocks. Here are 4 new ways celebrities wear dresses.

Naomi Watts – The Embellished Print

Naomi Watts doesn’t always go all out, so when she does you know you it’s something special. Take this embellished Valentino Fall 2017 dress with its floral appliques and its dark romance. The silhouette is surprisingly shapeless, but there is still a delightful feminine quality despite all the black madness. Here’s a new way to wear a dress that doesn’t have to involve body-hugging silhouettes or eye-popping patterns

Emily Blunt – The Cape

OK, so Emily Blunt‘s dress doesn’t exactly include a cape. But am I wrong to think those cool ruffle sleeves make it look like she is wearing a cape? Of course, the bold red color of this outstanding Marc Bouwer creation also has something to do with it.

Julianne Moore – The Sleeves

More amazing sleeves! Now Julianne Moore here is never one to shy away from a great dress and this one with the bell sleeves is no exception. While it may not have the sequins, feathers or embellishments of dresses past, the sleeves really do make the dress. It just goes to show that you don’t necessarily have to show cleavage in order to show off the special style of your dress.

Gabrielle Union – The Replacement

This “dress” isn’t really a dress at all. I just wanted to point out that if you’re not into wearing a dress, there’s always a chance to do what Gabrielle Union did and wear a long coat over your outfit instead. Bonus points for something flashy and eye-catching that isn’t too warm and can stay on all night.
