Aging Backwards: Getting A Nefertiti Neck Lift With Botox!

As you know I will do almost anything in the name of beauty and more specifically aging backwards! I know a lot of women are afraid of getting Botox and fillers so I wanted to prove to you it’s not that bad. If you have had babies this is a walk in the park. Lucky for you I have zero shame and decided to video my visit with Dr. Marina Peredo who runs Skinfluence Medical on the Upper East Side in Manhattan who I have visited before and adore. The procedure I tried is the Nefertiti neck lift with Botox.

My birthday is next week and I have not had Botox since last Christmas so I thought it was time. I shared getting Botox on my forehead and around the eyes (crow’s feet) in Instagram @fountainof30 yesterday. However I saved the best for YouTube (see below). I had no idea there was something called a Neferiti Lift until I saw Dr. Peredo. So I will share.

What is a Nefertiti Neck Lift?

My neck is a constant source of stress for me. About 2 years ago I noticed it starting to sag a bit and of course I then fixated on it every time I looked in the mirror or saw a picture of myself. Instead of going under the knife (something I too hope to avoid as long as possible mostly because I am a giant baby and hate surgery) you can have Botox injected along and under the jaw as well the neck bands. This is called a Nefertiti Lift and is an in office way to achieve a tighter neck and look more youthful (magic words to my ears). In the 14th Century BC, Queen Nefertiti was known for her striking beauty and sculpted neck lines. Years ago you would have to go under the knife to achieve these results, but with modern advancements in cosmetic surgery and laser technology, you can now accomplish this with Botox!

Nefertiti Neck Lift With Botox

A Nefertiti neck lift is done by injecting botox around the jawline and down the neck into the Platysma muscle, which is responsible for the downward pull along the jaw. By relaxing this muscle with Botox, the muscles on the upper face become stronger and naturally lift the face upwards. Results take 3-10 days to to see and last about 4-6 months.
