My Stay at AC Hotel Chicago Downtown

I am embarrassed to admit my recent trip to Chicago for our 10th Anniversary party last week was the first time I had been to the city in five years! I know that’s horrible, but I’ve have two little kids and my ability to travel is trumped by their needs. That said, there is also a part of me that is afraid to visit for I might never return to New York. I had never forgotten what a fabulous city Chicago is, but it took me over two years to get over the move and not hate NYC and I have been afraid to go/come back to the city that truly has my heart.
For good reason I was right to stay away. I don’t know how it’s possible, but Chicago is even more beautiful and clean than it was 5 years ago. The landscape has changed (for the better) and there are so many new restaurants and hotels I never knew opened in my absence.
I was fortunate to stay at one of those hotels during my all but short stay in Chicago. AC Hotel Chicago Doentown is located right in the heart of the city near the Magnificent Mile (where you want to be) and while it is a Marriott, it feels more like a European boutique hotel.

I loved the industrial vibe in the sitting room of my suite.

People in NYC would kill for a bathroom this size. Oh and there was a TV screen in the mirror.

I have to admit I took advantage of no kids for 48 hours. It’s not often I get to put my feet up after my morning shower.

Disclosure: Thanks to the AC Chicago hotel for my fabulous accommodations. While the room was comped, opinions are my own.
