Pretty in Pink: Making Millennial Pink Work at Any Age

You may have heard about it, and chances are, you’ve seen it and didn’t realize what you were looking at. You were looking at a cultural phenomenon that’s been a hot trend since its debut years ago. You either completely despise it or just can’t get enough. It is the shade of pink silently ruling all bloggers, fashionistas and the trend-obsessed alike. It’s Millennial Pink.

What is millennial pink?

Millennial pink comes in a range of pastels from blush to ballet slippers to cotton candy. In Pantone color terms it is a range of pinks including Pale Dogwood and Rose Quartz.

I can hear you already, “I’m XX years old, I’m not a toddler. Who can really make that work in real life?” Well, I think this shade can work anytime, anywhere. You just have to make it the standout color wherever you put it. Add a dash of pink to your casual, off-the-shoulder denim dress with a pink luxury handbag. Or just toss on some trendy pink earrings. A quick accessories addition is always the easiest, of course.

Maybe it’s not your color to wear but that doesn’t mean you can’t still inject the color into your world. Purchase a major piece of art or furniture in the shade. No matter the color of the room, it is sure to be a show-stopper. Many companies are adding Millennial Pink to their packaging. Glossier is a perfect example of combining the color with a little bit of Pantone inspiration.

If you just can’t stand it enough to have it anywhere near you or your home, there’s no shame in taking a vacation to one of the most pink locales on Earth, The Royal Hawaiian Hotel. It’s famous for being the background in many Elvis movies and for it’s bright pink exterior. You can even say it’s the hipster of Millennial Pink. This place  was all about the color before it was cool.

There are so many ways for you to try the trend. You know the saying, “don’t knock it ‘til you try it!”
