Summer Transitional Trend: The Fit & Flare Maxi Skirt  

While recently shopping at H&M I found a maxi skirt (the black one pictured above) on sale and just had to pick it up!  The fit is very flattering because it has a high flat waistband and curved seams that flare out at the hem. I have noticed many of the maxi skirts or Fall ’16 have a similar shape, thus my name for “the fit & flare maxi“. I was elated to find another option to shorts and short skirts for summer and one that transitions so easily for fall.

Some fit & flare maxis have asymmetric hems, ruffles and interesting contoured panels. These flare hems make these skirts comfortable and easy to walk in since they are not dragging-on-the-floor long. Wear them now with a t-shirt and flatforms, wedges or flat lace up sandals. Bring a jean jacket or bomber in case you get chilly. For the fall transition you can top off the fit & flare maxi with a leather jacket or a cropped open-weave sweater with ankle booties.
