Looks For Less: What to Wear On A Summer Road Trip

Just because we are living in an uncertain time, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the warm, sunny summer weather! One safer and socially distant vacation idea is a road trip with family or very close friends. You can enjoy seeing the world go by from the safety on your car after being cooped up for a long few months. Here are some ideas for affordable, comfortable and chic pieces to wear while relaxing and taking in the views. Here’s what to wear on a summer road trip.

Breezy, Casual Dresses

In my opinion, the easiest way to look pulled together while remaining cool and comfortable during a road trip is by wearing a breezy, casual dress. It’s easy, versatile and can match with different accessories because you’re pairing them with one color palette. This midi dress from ASOS would be perfect for traveling, plus you’ll still look polished when you reach your destination!

Effortless Knotted Sandals

A big part of your personal comfort during a road trip all comes down to footwear. I always prefer wearing a pair of sandals that can easily be mixed and matched with other outfits. Plus, they’re simple to slip on and off! This pair of nautical inspired sandals from Free People would be ideal and match with many looks! The black sandals are sophisticated and I have an almost identical pair, but these sandals also come in a range of colors including coral and gold.

Printed Baseball Cap

A simple cap has practical purposes. It can keep your hair in check and the sun off your face. Feel free to mix and match different hat colors with your outfits, and don’t be afraid to pair a sporty cap with a midi dress. This baseball cap from Anthropologie comes in four different animal prints including leopard print, which I consider a neutral.

Universally Flattering Sunglasses

These retro tortoise sunglasses from Madewell are both budget-friendly and sophisticated, and their shape is flattering for many different face shapes. They come in multiple colorways and would pair with many things you would wear from a fun road trip to everyday errands … to the European vacation of your dreams.

The Prefect Summer Road Trip Tote

Looking for a fun tote for your next trip? Look no further than Urban Outfitters’ woven tote. It will fit all your daily essentials like your phone, wallet, sunscreen and more. I love the woven pattern because it reminds me of a vintage find you’d never look for specifically but would love forever.

Refreshing Rosewater Spray for Hydration

One of my all-time favorite beauty products that I can’t live without is Heritage Store Rosewater Spray. The fragrance is divine and doesn’t burn your eyes like some other facial sprays do. I spritz it on my face a couple times a day when I need to set my makeup in the morning, refresh my skin or add a little hydration. This affordable and natural product is a must-have to bring on your road trip to refresh your skin.
