Looks for Less: Make Them Green with Envy

Lately, I’ve noticed have been subconsciously reaching for pieces in green tones for different fashion situations, both while planning outfits for the week, and while haphazardly getting dressed on rushed mornings. I’m sure I’m influenced by a few color trend articles I’ve read, but I know it’s more than that.

Green is a very versatile and flattering color to wear. It’s a little more unexpected than blue, and can be a variety of different shades, from natural hues to bold tones. Green is calming, and symbolizes growth and wealth. For the end of summer, it may be a little unexpected, which I love.

These bow tie sandals from Jeffrey Campbell are equal parts feminine and fun. The tropical print is chic without being too cutesy. These sandals would make great slippers when the weather gets chilly, too! ASOS is a great site to shop when you’re in the mood for inexpensive trendy accessories. These geometric earrings would look perfect with many different outfits, and their pretty color makes them look more expensive than they really are (which is always a plus when shopping for a look for less!)

If you’re in the market for an accessory that’s more utilitarian, this State Bags backpack is a beautiful shade of green that won’t show dirt. With its unique shape, many pockets and versatile fabric, this backpack is perfect for a busy, multitasking mom.

The weather will still be warm and sunny for a while so why not celebrate the end of summer wearing a breezy, sophisticated top like this one from Anthropologie? It’s silhouette and vertical stripes are very flattering, and is perfect for a picnic or family outing.

Last but not least, this head band from Free People is unexpected but works. It’s ideal for bad hair days, or crazy morning when there’s no time to wash your hair. The sparkles and plaid are a pretty combination, and can be worn all year long with a variety of outfits.
