Joseph Altuzarra Wins 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award!

It’s always exciting to see the new CFDA winner because you know they’ll be getting all the fashion popularity along with ranks of Alexander Wang. And that’s never a bad thing.
This year’s 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner is designer Joseph Altuzarra. Altuzarra has been a rising fashion staple since 200. The runners-up are jeweler Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Chris Peters, whose respective companies each receive $100,000.
And this year’s win appears to have been a battle because Alturazza was up against some big names. This year’s other nominees were Suno‘s Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis; Carlos Campos ; Antonio Azzuolo of A.A. Antonio Azzuolo; Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs of Cushnie et Ochs; Ohne Titel‘s Alexa Adams and Flora Gill; Fenton/Fallon’s Dana Lorenz, and Soraya Silchenstedt of Finn Jewelry.
Altuzarra’s win gets him $300,000, as well as mentoring opportunities with CFDA members. You know, because he needed to spend more time hanging out with Billy Reid, Sophie Theallet, Alexander Wang,Trovata and Proenza Schouler’s Hernandez and McCollough, Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors…
