Immune Boosting Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Starts Your Day A Healthy Way

Whip up this quick and easy pumpkin pie smoothie to jump start your day! Even before the first leaf falls, the world seems to become pumpkin flavored. And as much as I like pumpkin pie, I try to only eat it on Thanksgiving. But if I can drink anything pumpkin flavored…and healthy, I’m in! That’s why I like this Immune Boosting Pumpkin Pie Smoothie.

I’m not going to lie, there is absolutely no substitute for pumpkin pie and I’m not trying to tell you this pumpkin recipe is any different. This time of year, a pumpkin pie smoothie is the perfect foil to trick your taste buds that you’re having something super indulgent. This simple pumpkin recipe is actually an immune booster. It contains immune boosting foods like pumpkin, cinnamon, Greek yogurt and banana.

This Pumpkin Smoothie Is Loaded With Immune Boosters!

  • Pumpkins contain vitamin C, vitamin E, iron, and folate. All of these vitamins and minerals strengthen your immune system.
  • Cinnamon contains anti-inflammatory properties (Check out the post How Herbs and Spices Can Help Us Live Longer).
  • Greek yogurt is loaded with probiotics which helps improve gut health and boost the immune system.
  • Bananas contain prebiotics and lots of B6 to help with immune system function.

Make Adjustments If You Wish

While this smoothie is packed with protein you can add more if you add a scoop of vanilla protein powder. If you want to use oat or coconut milk instead of almond milk, go for it. And if you want to use low-fat yogurt you can do that too. Or if peanut butter isn’t your thing, you can always use a nut butter of your choice or maybe a peanut butter protein powder like PBfit All-Natural Organic Peanut Butter Powder which also brings the calories down quite a bit. By making these small adjustments you can make yourself the perfect filling breakfast or snack that will keep you satisfied until Turkey Day.
