How To Master A “Relaxed” Street Style Look Flawlessly

It’s relatively easy to understand the motivation behind getting dressed up when you have something important to do such as a big meeting, an interview, a fun night out, a date or any other special occasion. Even just going to work or grabbing coffee with a friend might be motivation enough to put your face on. However, when you’re just relaxing at home or maybe running a few errands, it’s tougher to get motivated to change out of leggings and a hoodie. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to a fabulous version of a cozy sweatsuit or a similar ensemble. Here’s how to get the relaxed street style look down flawlessly.

The Full Look

You should have left the classic Juicy Couture-style velour pairings behind about a decade ago. But a matched set in pretty much any other material when done right is ultra-luxe, especially when the top is a wrap and everything is cashmere. Dear Drew by Drew Barrymore (available on Amazon) is a great example. You can  easily take this outfit form the sofa to the streets.

Leggings With A Twist

While leggings are always ultra-comfortable, there certainly ways to do them that are more…ready for public consumption…than others. Like these faux-leather look versions from Nordstrom’s own line.

Modern Sweatshirts

Nothing is cozier than a sweatshirt, and these days it’s easy enough to pick out something that doesn’t look like a sweatshirt at all. Like this velvet number from NY Collection at Macy’s, which is just about perfect – and perfectly flattering.

Plush Socks

A good pair of socks makes any outfit more lounge-worthy, and that goes doubly so when it’s cold outside. Which is why we suggest stocking up on socks from Uniqlo, since HeatTech technology is an option and you don’t have to sacrifice style.

Fragrance Is Necessary

Perfume should be the one thing you always wear, even if you’re just relaxing at home. Your favorite fragrance is personal of course, but we always love Maison Margiela if you need some inspiration.

in conclusion

You deserve to look your best at all times, and that definitely includes when you’re at home. Looking great when you’re out and about is one thing, but looking great for yourself? That’s truly fabulous. So keep that in mind when you’re buying loungewear, house clothes or whatever you want to call them. You’re buying something that you’re going to spend a significant amount of time in. So it’s more than worth it!
