Fall Presentation Of Lafayette 148 New York Hosted By Second City Style

On Thursday October 11, Second City Style hosted the debut of the Lafayette 148 New York collection at Nordstrom at Shops at North Bridge on Michigan Ave. The event was very laid back as event-goers were encouraged the shop the collection. Champagne and white wine were passed and small bites offered a little nosh for the two-hour long event. Our very own Managing Editor of Second City Style, Carol Calacci, styled the collection of her favorite pieces, gave us her tips on how to style them together or incorporate the pieces into your current wardrobe. Todd Headrick, Lafayette 148 New York style extraordinaire, was also there to give his commentary on the the luxurious fabrics and finishes of the collection’s pieces.
There’s Carol with the models from the Lafayette 148 New York preview. Looking good, ladies!
The range went from work wear to casual to evening attire, and offered a little something for everyone. For all the ladies that were already excited about fall fashion, this definitely served as a surge to jump start their fall shopping sprees. Check out some of the best items of the collection styled a la Carol! She told us that she was impressed with Lafayette 148 New York because of the fit, the fine Italian fabrics and tailoring, the modern design, and the wonderful accessories, including wide leather belts, gloves, fur pieces and clean and functional handbags. Carol told us the collection included many of fall 2012’s trends including pencil skirts, illusion prints, graphic prints, jewel tone colors, leather and fur. Great job, Carol! And great job Lafayette 148 New York and Nordstrom!
The sweater is one of my favorite pieces that I saw. It’s so sexy and understated.

I’m loving the longer length on the skirt. And who doesn’t love a fur topper?
The cropped leather jacket is so versatile. I’d love to wear that with my skinnies!
This is one of my favorite looks. Sexy, feminine and edgy all in one.
Who says bright pink is only for summer?
This stretch gray dress is the perfect length for day or night and the belt is amazing!
This outfit is of the signature looks of the collection. I love it!
Navy is of my favorite colors, so clearly this is one of my favorite looks of the night.
One of the other casual looks featured. The blazer paired with the denim is so classic and sophisticated.
I’d love to swath myself in this black wrap.
The navy sequin top was probably hands down my favorite piece of the new collection.
These wide leg bell bottom pants are so flattering and unexpected.
