Celebrity Style: 5 Super Shapes for Summer

Celebrity Style, Jessica Szohr, Amy Schumer, Laverne Cox, Christy Turlington, Gina Rodriguez
Sleek and sensual or bold and oversize? How do you like to wear your shapes for summer? While many celebrity fashionistas who exercise religiously and diet just a little too often are prone to wearing crop tops and tight-fitting dresses (the kind a women over 30 wouldn’t be caught dead in) we wanted to pay tribute to the those who are getting it right, in beautiful shapes that are sexy or sweet but not overdone.

Draping – Jessica Szohr

Want to hide a belly? A draped wrap dress is the best way to go. Not only is it flattering on most figures, but the modern silhouette is both accommodating and trendy. The draped Armani Exchange high neck in black satin on Jessica Szohr does the trick and still leaves a little to the imagination with the slit in front.

Form Fitting – Gina Rodriguez

Ready to show off your hard work at the gym while still showing off your curves? Opt for a form fitting maxi dress or top and skirt a la Gina Rodriguez. This Elizabeth and James combination has a top with a high neckline in case you don’t want to show off the cleavage.

A-Line – Amy Schumer

If there’s one thing Amy Schumer knows how to do (besides make people laugh) it’s how to flaunt her curves. She does so in a striking textured white mini in an A-line shape and some cleavage that accentuates her voluptuous physique.

Asymmetrical – Laverne Cox

The striking thing about Laverne Cox’s beige Whistles dress is that the top part of the dress has an asymmetrical lining, which adds something unique to the ensemble and also distracts from a belly (though Laverne doesn’t have one.) Right away, it brings our eyes up to toned arms, which I’m pretty sure is what she wanted.

Boxy – Christy Turlington

In this case, boxy is a good thing. Christy Turlington is 46 years-old and dresses her age incredibly well. But beyond that, she has an amazing body and still knows how to dress appropriately while still looking super trendy in this Zero + Maria Cornejo shirtdress. I adore the sleeves on the top part and the asymmetrical line of her skirt.
