With all of the fun summer trends out there, it’s inevitable that you are going to reach trend overload. Sometimes, it can be difficult to figure out what trend works for your style, your life or your body type. But don’t throw your hands up and give up, there is a loophole in those rules! The loophole is accessories; and a bold accessory is enough to trump any of the other summer trends out there.
Bold Accessories Trend
Fashion is evolving and individuality of personal style is becoming the norm. Now, modern day ladies are deviating from the simplicity of a pearl necklace or classic gold hoops that were so popular several decades (and even centuries!) ago. For the past couple of seasons, we have seen a major transformation on the runways to bold statement earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings featured in bright, primary colors with tassels, fringe, geometric shapes and major bling. Accessories have become just as head-turning as the apparel pieces featured in designer collections and are now an integral part of your finished look. Some of the more interesting pieces (and some of my favorites) are the long pendant necklaces with giant crystals and natural stones like those featured in Stella McCartney’s SS17 collection and elaborate chokers like those featured in the Lanvin and Nina Ricci shows.
How To Wear THE Bold Accessories Trend
A bold accessory can make any good outfit great. If you are more of a simple t-shirt and jeans gal, a statement necklace will provide you instant glam. Frankly, if you are doing a bold necklace or earrings, it’s best to keep it simple on top anyway. A basic v-neck tee in a supple cotton blend or a sheer, sexy button front top can be the best backdrop for a chunky gemstone necklace or a blingy bib necklace like this one by Alexis Bittar.
I think the same styling tip applies if you want to go with a pair of bold earrings; keeping the top simple will have all eyes on your accessory choice. If you don’t want to draw all of the attention to the top, try a cuff bracelet or a brightly-colored watch like this bubble gum pink Nixon watch. Cuff the sleeves of your classic button front to create the canvas for this fun bold accessory trend.
