Runway To Real Way: Turkish Delight! Chic Jet-Setting Style for Summer

Happy summer vacation season! As Memorial Day approaches, it’s officially time to start day dreaming of sandy shores, gauzy blue skies and brightly colored cocktails! And whether you’ve actually booked yourself on an exotic escape or plan to go no farther than your back yard, we’ve rounded up some of the best looks for less from the spring runways to create that chic jet-setting style for summer.

The Spring/Summer 2017 NYFW runways were awash in a mosaic of prints, colors and fabrics that channeled the great beyond. Just walking down the street in these pieces could transport you to a market in Marrakech or a cliff side resort in Athens. We loved the loose, boho shapes that many of the styles displayed, punctuated with an intricate pattern.

Roberto Cavalli has always been a master of print and his S/S ’17 caftans were no exception. This maxi dress from Rococo Sand offers the same level of deep blue chic and can easily serve as a cover up or cocktail party confection.

Mediterranean-inspired styles are all the rage these days, with tassels and embroidery and stripes everywhere you look. We think, if you do the trend, do it all the way with a dramatic look like these caftans from Etro. Channel the girls from “Sex and the City 2” in a perfectly pretty embroidered top and look every bit of the jet setter part with a blouse like this one from Rosegal.

One of the sweetest boho-inspired touches that we can’t get over is the overall-style straps. A grown up take on the coveralls of our youth, the boyish cut and long and lean silhouette makes this a perfect shape to live in this summer. Oscar de la Renta lent the style to flowing prairie dresses in their Spring 2017 collection. We handpicked a pair of cropped trousers and linear lines in this Pinny Jumpsuit from ASOS.

Finally, no vacation-worthy round up is complete with a good peasant top. Light, airy and as comfortable as your oldest pair of pajamas, the peasant top has become a mainstay of summer fashion in recent years. There’s a million iterations these days but we still have a few faves. Matching the same effortless vibes Acne conveyed this season with their over/under undulating layers, we found a perfectly pretty and decidedly simple option at none other than Gap. All of the vacation-worthy vibes, with plenty left over to plan your next getaway.
