9 of The Best Neck Creams To Try Right Now

It doesn’t matter how well I take care of my skin (and I do!). If there is one area that drives me nuts the most it’s…my neck! Ask any woman, it’s the bane of our existence. That’s because neck skin is the thinner than other parts of the body. The delicate neck and décolletage area is more prone to redness, wrinkling, dryness and loss of elasticity compared to the face. Then combine that with gravity, long periods of time craning over screens/smartphones (tech-neck), and how we sleep, well it’s a recipe for disaster. Should you try a neck cream?

Nothing is going to work as well as surgery and non-surgical procedures work OK (you might get a 20% improvement), but they don’t last more than a year or two. I hate to tell you, but no cream, lotion or serum is going to miraculously give you back the neck you had when you were 25. However, if you keep your expectations and goals in check, there are many stand-out moisturizers and firming creams that will temporarily tighten the skin of your neck over time (6-10 weeks). I have tested more neck creams than I would care to admit and am ready to share my 9 favorite neck creams with you.

Please note: I did not pick any with SPF because you can and should be applying this separately anyway. Also most of the neck creams are in $100-$150 range. That seems to be the sweet spot. I did test a couple that were over $300 but who wants to spend that kind of money on a cream with moderate results? And frankly, I didn’t find them any better than the others. Save your money.

9 of The Best Neck Creams

1. Perricone MD Cold Plasma Sub D Neck, $135

This is a multitasking neck treatment that helps visibly firm, sculpt, tighten and contour your jawline and neck areas using Perricone’s proprietary cold plasma complex (the key ingredient is DMAE). When Perricone first launched their cold plasma line about a decade ago it smelled awful (like rotten eggs) but they have managed to fix that problem. Use it both morning and night.

2. Alastin Restorative Neck Complex, $110

This next generation skin tightener for neck and décolleté is in a word, amazing. It was specifically formulated to address the delicate skin below the chin and above the chest and it tackles photo-aged discoloration as well!. Alastin incorporates their TriHex Technology formulation which supports the production of new elastin and collagen. It also helps rebuild and recycle the skin’s extracellular matrix (ECM) by clearing out byproducts of aging from exposure to sun and pollution. I use in the morning and at night and noticed results in about 2 weeks!

3. Beverly Hills MD Lift + Firm Sculpting Cream for Face & Neck, $120

I love the consistency of this cream. As soon as I apply it my skin feels dramatically smoother. You can use it on your face too, but I save it for my neck and just slather it on! The intensive “firming” complex truly visibly reduces the appearance of sagging skin and my neck, jawline and chin look more sculpted.

4. Gold Bond Ultimate Neck & Chest Firming Cream, $9.99

One of our readers turned me on to this cream. She raved about it so much I ran straight to Target to buy it. I have to tell you, it packs a major punch for $10! It’s fragrance free and is quite thick. You will notice softer, firmer skin as soon as you apply it. This cream contains hyaluronic acid to aid skin in retaining moisture while the advanced hydration blend draws in and locks in moisture. Apply it liberally to your neck and chest. One thing I can say is that because it’s so inexpensive I find myself applying more than I would a $100+ cream and that may be a good thing. Just slather it on your neck and décolleté.

5. Emma Hardie Lift & Sculpt Firming Neck Treatment, $90

I was given a sample of this neck firming treatment over a year ago and I loved it so much I want more! I adore the serum’s constancy (containing inca inchi and raspberry oils to protect the skin from free-radical damage and lock in moisture) but it’s also a lot of fun to apply. You roll it on with the metal applicator which pushes the serum into the skin and allows it to penetrate better. I’m not going to lie though, I used another neck cream on top of most of the time.

6. Defenage 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream, $127

This neck cream took 3 years of extensive research to develop. Many dermatologists recommend this one and it’s for good reason. It works. Over time (2-6 weeks) it smooths out the look of deep lines and folds, visibly reduces fine lines and gives your neck a younger appearance. I love how thick it is, yet it penetrates and isn’t sticky or just sits on top of the skin. I also appreciate it contains no parabens, fragrances, formaldehydes, phthalates, etc.

7. PRAI Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme, $30

If you want a lightweight neck cream that doesn’t break the bank, you might want to try this one. It’s infused with nourishing ingredients like mulberry, shea butter, prai oil, vitamins A and E, and Sepilift DPHP™, which restores elasticity and supports collagen to skin. The formula also reduces the appearance of age spots and other forms of discoloration.

  1. What a great range of products, both in terms of price point and how they work! Thanks for doing the research. It’s reassuring to get recommendations from someone I know (if only virtually) instead of the “reviews” that appear on the companies’ websites.
