7 Lash Lengtheners That Really Work

I want long, thick lashes. Who doesn’t, right? As I have aged I have noticed they are a tad shorter and a little more sparse than they were in my 20’s and it bothers me to no end. One coat of mascara no longer cuts it yet I hate clumps. I don’t want to wear false lashes because I don’t like the way they look on me and I have a dreadful time affixing them perfectly. Lash extensions are costly and they don’t last. Yes, I have tried Latisse and it works – too well. My lashes got so long they were crossing at the ends and then I made the fatal mistake of trimming them (never do that). So I set out to find lash lengtheners that really work and don’t not to be prescribed by a doctor.

Some people I know swear by Castor Oil which is inexpensive (beauty hack) and can also be used to thicken brows (not my issue). So I did a little research and have tried various lash extending serums over the past few years in search of the perfect formula. Yes, this post has taken years to research because you need about 3 months to truly see if a product works. So I did the legwork for you.

Oh and a little reminder, none of these (nor Latisse) should be used on our lower lashes. Besides a little travels down anyway and you will see some growth there as well, but I don’t advocate applying lash serum to those lashes nor is it recommended.

lash lengtheners that really work

HERE ARE 7 LASH EXTENDING SERUMS THAT WORK

1. Grande Lash, $35.99

I first tried this product a few years ago and really saw results after about 3 months. In fact I have written about it before. I actually met the founder of the company at that time and her lashes were long, thick and enviable. So obviously I had to try it! GrandeLASH-MD is created with a proprietary blend of vitamins, peptides and amino acids plus conditioning ingredients. I like that it’s natural and 100% safe to use. It’s also a lot less money than Latisse.

2. LashFood, $78

This organic certified lash enhancer was created by a team of cosmetic scientists. It does make the  appearance of longer, thicker lashes and whips frail and brittle lashes into shape. LashFood does not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, prostaglandin, silicone, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, mineral oils, phenoxyethanol, PEG, petrochemicals, GMOs, formaldehyde donors or gluten. I did notice my lashes were longer and thicker in a little more than three months.

3. Talika Lipocils Platinium Double Serum, $120

This product literally blew my mind. At the time I tried this amazing duo I had a little bald patch on my left upper lash line and my lashes grew back in that area within a few weeks! Hand to God. One formula is for day and the other is for evening so your lashes are basically protected and growing 24 hours a day. Skin cells work differently during the day and the night, so they require different treatments tailored to those different functions. Lipocils Platinium addresses the cells’ daily and nightly needs in 2 formulas.

The day formula of Lipocils Platinium acts as a mascara primer and protects your lashes with silk protein extracts, which shield the bulb and the shaft from environmental stressors. Put some on and wait about 5 minutes before applying your mascara.

The night formula combines Biomimetic Peptides with a powerful lash booster, Red Clover Extract. Talika’s Biomimetic Peptide matches the skin’s naturally occurring Peptides almost exactly, allowing the lash to grow even longer than with standard added Peptides.

I know this is a lengthy explanation but I saw noticeable results in 4 weeks! I realize it costs a bit more but you are getting two products that will last at least 3 months. It’s totally worth the price in my opinion.

4. RevitaLash, $98

If you want improved lash appearance, healthier-looking lashes, and stronger lashes, you will love this this proprietary blend of scientifically-advanced technology and natural botanicals. They help protect against breakage and brittleness, improve flexibility add moisture and shine. It’s Ophthalmologist reviewed, Dermatologist reviewed, clinically tested, hypoallergenic and non-irritating. I also love that a portion of all proceeds benefit breast cancer research initiatives. So RevitaLash got me there. Does it work? Yes. Is it my favorite of the bunch? No. I did notice my lashes looked healthier but they were not as long and thick as some of the other products I tried. It’s more of a conditioner.

5. Organyc Eyelash & Eyebrow Growth Serum, $34.99

I added this one because it is a fan favorite, is organic and is a lot of smash for the cash! You can also use this product on your brows. Use Organyc Lash & Brow Growth Serum for two months and you will have longer, thicker lashes (I did not use this on my brows so can not attest). Better yet your lashes will be nourished and soft! What I appreciate most about this product is that it’s free of lots of icky chemicals like paraben, sulphate, phthalates and even color and fragrance. It is oil free and vegan and does not cause any eye irritation whatsoever. I also love the fact that the company stands behind their product and will refund your money if it does not work for you. One tube should last 2-4 months.

6. Rodan & Fields Enhancements Lash Boost, $150

By now we all know someone who sells Rodan & Fields (if you don’t email Beth Stepka Parenteau [email protected] or call her at (401) 378-3558). I have been asked to sell it at least a dozen times myself and I probably never will because I like trying different brands and would never align myself to just one. I digress. Does this product work? Yes. Is it expensive? YES! I have been using this for the past 6 weeks and I have noticed a significant difference in the length and volume of my lashes. It’s a conditioning formula comprised of biotin and keratin and Rodan & Fields does not test on animals

7. vegaLASH Volumizing Serum, $79.95

If you looking for a cruelty free, healthy, vegan product that works to grow, darken and thicken your lashes then try this! I noticed results in two weeks! After four weeks the results were even better. But then it sort of maxed out. vegaLASH is 100% vegan, cruelty-free and hormone-free. The exclusive Polyphytobase Complex contains active phytomolecules along with zinc and biotin, essential for healthy lashes. It’s also safe so there’s that too.

CAN’T WAIT AND WANT IMMEDIATE RESULTS?

I hear ya! You want immediate gratification. It may come off at night but it means insanely long lashes that look fake but are much easier to apply! Then you need both of these products because they work together to create magic in minutes.

Divaderme Lash Extender II, $29.95

This fiber will INSTANTLY increase the length, thickness and volume of your lashes by 1000%! I’m serious. And in seconds! They are like artificial lashes, but without the hassle of messy glue! It also helps your lashes grow too! Natural Lash Fiber Enhancer Treatment, Lash Extender II is made with 80% natural fibers and 20% herbal extracts + vitamins. The formula also conditions, strengthens, volumizes and enhances your lashes in 4 to 6 weeks and is also hypoallergenic & paraban-free.

Divaderme Mascara Diva FX II, $48.95

This mascara alone gives you longer, thicker lashes by 25%, but use it with the fiber lash extender above and your lashes will look INSANE. This mascara is hypoallergenic & paraban-free. It’s made with 87% natural mascara, 12% Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 and 1% Argan Oil, and is all-natural. So it’s ideal for those with sensitive skin or who suffer from paraben allergies. Additionally it’s cruelty free, making it perfect for vegans too.

So how do you get maximum results from these products? One eye at a time, curl your lashes (if you can, but it even works on stubby lashes), apply one coat of mascara, then one coat of the fiber lash extender and then apply one final coat of mascara to seal the fibers. Then proceed to the other eye. I dare you not to gasp like I did. It’s magic.

Long lashes to you!
